To whoever has never read the book, the storyline is fkn fantastic and unique, and the read is definitely recommended. This movie looks pretty faithful to the novel and I will definitely be checking it out, but you really gotta read the book, the imagination conjures up stuff that's far creepier than anything you'll see in the movie and Stephen King is the master at stimulating this. Brilliant book.

I remember reading this book long ago. They gave away the whole plot in this trailer ... I do not know if this works well as a jump scare movie. The best of the book is on the words, the dialogues. That chapter where the old man tells Louis the story about the cementery and his own dog give me goosebumps.

I swear, in 30 years the trailers will be the entire movie

I read this as a kid after asking my dad what the scariest book was he'd read. I don't like horror but figured I might as well go for the jugular. I remember being so terrified by it, I left it a whole week before finishing the last two chapters. Never read another horror story since.

Wow. All I can say is wow. I haven’t been genuinely unnerved by a horror movie since I saw the second conjuring in theaters but this movie was amazing. Excellently done

Just watched this tonight, it honestly blew my mind. Such a great movie, would watch it again! Also, there is an easter egg in the movie so keep an eye out for that too!

So not only is Gage not the one who dies which means the killing is gonna be a thousand times less disturbing because it being a demonically possessed two year old was much more creepy, not only does this undermine Ellie's actual role from the book, not only do they seem to be altering the story's structure FOR NO REASON (Gage comes back and kills Judd and Rachel in one night and then Louis goes nuts afterwards) seemingly to pad out the length but the line 'she's not the only thing that came back' is such bullshit because it means that we now get a bunch of stupid creepy kids in masks. Because you know the corpse of your dead child reanimated and trying to kill you somehow isn't scary enough so let's throw in some out of nowhere kids in masks to flood the movie and basically act and cheap jump scare fodder.

Looks surprisingly better than I expected; That being said, how are they going to top Gage from the original? That is honestly one of the creepiest child performances in any movie, easily top 10. Also the music in the original is fantastic.

I just saw this film today, and it is probably the creepiest movie I've ever seen. And I've seen lots of movies. But the little girl who played Ellie, Jeté Laurence, was remarkable. She has a tremendous future in the movies, mark my words!

One of the best horror movies I've seen in a long time even better than the original that was very good.

I watched the original movie when I was 4 years old and for 15 years I thought it was a nightmare I had. The scene with the sister scarred me for life.

Saw it. Not a big fan of remakes but I’m gonna give this film a recommendation. Especially an awesome performance by Jeté Laurence(Ellie Creed). She’s a real find. She should get an award or something for best new actress. Hopefully this performance will lead to bigger things.
