  • The Vocaloid song everyone heard... The one that's actually the definition of "heard a vocaloid song but doesn't know Vocaloid"... NYAN CAT
  • its so interesting how so many popular songs that people dont know are vocaloid are made by kikuo, who is notorious for making very upbeat songs with fucked up lyrics
  • When I decided to watch it I was like 'Yeah, there're gonna be those songs like nyan cat and copycat', but when I saw the sims 4... Oh. My. God.
  • Like... 13? years later I'm still mad over my classmates making fun of me for listening to "anime robot music" and then turning around and bragging about how they just set the "song from the Nyancat challenge" as their ringtone lol
  • I feel like Porter Robinson is relatively mainstream, and he uses Vocaloid in several songs. Even has his own Vocaloid.
  • Don't forget that the song "hide and seek" the one that does like "ding dong I know you can hear me..." a lot of fnaf fans know from that one animated video of nightmare balloon boy but the version used is actually the english cover of the original vocaloid korean song sung by SeeU!
  • just to let you know Loituma didn't actually make Ievan Polkka, their version just popularised it. it was already a preexisting Finnish song with lyrics written by Eino Kettunen way back in 1928. ZUN didn't make teto territory, oxi wrote the parody lyrics for that song and the instrumental was taken from the silver forest circle's track ⑨destiny ~zutto cirno no turn~ which was a sequel of sorts to their track kero⑨destiny which was based on ZUN's track Native Faith. drop pop candy was also made by giga with him doing tuning and music and reol writing the lyrics. also the momo momone cover of nyanyanyanyanyanyanya! was made by momomomoP
  • Most people have also heard Amygdala’s Ragdoll. By Ghost.
  • Never knew the song used in the Nyan Cat video was originally a vocaloid song but I probably should've guessed that since it's such an old meme
  • I listen to so much vocaloid and somehow never recognized the vocals in Love Taste to be Gumi...goddamn
  • I wish you included more of these "vocaloid in places where you wouldn't expect" type of songs/facts. Either way, good video.
  • My challenge here is to find a Vocaloid song I don't know
  • I can't believe it was my girl Defoko who is in My Time! That's actually amazing! I like how you added added Teto Territory even though Teto is technically an utau!
  • It's funny how many people know aishite but never seen the music video
  • Seeing Drop Pop Candy made me happy because that was my second introduction to Vocaloid through the Undertale fandom! (My first exposure was Echo. Through the Gravity Falls fandom.)
  • dont forget scratchin melodi!! almost all of the characters in that game use vocaloid voices (except mcwave and nami)!
  • Puppycat mention ️️️
  • One thing that comes to mind is Insanity by CircusP, or Circus Monster. Those two were the first Vocaloid songs I ever heard and I had no idea they were until I got older. Anybody who grew up with Creepypasta would probably know Insanity
  • Girl A by siinamota also trended at some point for sad, dramatic edits
  • i’m literally showing this to my gf who likes proseka but has no idea what vocaloid is because i have autism and vocaloid is my special interest, to the point i renamed myself rin in 2017, and have an entire xingchen/stardust infinity themed room
  • I have been a Vocaloid fan for like 12 years.....I had no idea there was a Miku song in the Sims! Good for her!
  • the way the vocaloid fandom changed ever since prsk
  • The choice of Lost Umbrella over Lag Train was interesting
  • Luka night fever ? (Today is the birthday of luka )
  • The most known of these songs outside of vocaloid and "weeb" cultrure are probably Nyanyanyanyanya and Ievan polkka. One because Nyan Cat, the other because it's a cover of a traditional Finnish song that was first recorded in 1937 and later popularized by Loituma in late 90s before then getting popularized further due to the Miku cover
  • This was the golden age of vocaloid i miss my childhood
  • Also Goodbye to a World
  • Ochame Kinou/Fukkireta by Lamaze P sung by teto is very VERY popular among vtuber most specifically hololive. They had tradition of covering the song but sadly most of fans doesnt even know its a cover
  • I remember listening to a cover of echo and when I listened to Gumi's I was like "ew wtf is this?" and now I am such a big vocaloid fan, and I hate my past self sm
  • WAS NOT EXPECTING MY TIME BUT IM HAPPY IT WAS ON HERE
