Actually vtubers usually go through an app or program or whatever which kind of processes the face detection rather than the video actually being given so there’s not really a fear of face revealing since there’s no real video input, just how their face/hands are moving.

In all fairness, when she was Selen she did have over 800K subs on YouTube, so she was a very popular member of Nijisanji, but it's still amazing to see all the support she got when she came back to her dormant Dokibird persona - big ups to everyone that came back to boost her, both from within the community and without, and gained a lot of new fans to the Vtuber scene. What all went down before then is absolutely horrible, but I'm hoping for great things for her going into the future.

Dokibird isn't Selen's alt account, but instead it is her old/original account before resigning and joining Nijisanji as Selen Tatsuki. To sum it up, the Selen Tatsuki account is owned by Nijisanji and she no longer has control of all social media accounts because she was fired (terminated), that's why she went back to her original account Dokibird, and she only knew the reason why she got fired when Nijisanji posted a statement on X, She basically got terminated without Nijisanji notifying her.

as a vtuber fan, it's always been one of those "secrets that everybody knows but doesn't talk about" that nijisanji was a black corporation, but selen being fired opened up the floodgates of whistleblowers. Multiple members of the organization have since been accused of bullying and sexual assault, with receipts for quite a lot of it. Hololive (nijisanji's main competitor) hires girls to be idol vtubers and manages them closely, but nijisanji has always sort of just hired people and thrown them to the wolves with no management whatsoever, and their hiring policies are... iffy (for instance, do you remember that tf2 youtuber who pretended to die from cancer and then came back years later and said he faked it? he is in nijisanji now under the name "sonny brisko")
